Public invited to Algae Task Force meeting

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is asking the public to weigh in when it hosts a meeting of the Blue-Green Algae Task Force Tuesday, June 4, at 11 a.m.

The meeting, in Live Oak, is open to anyone who wants to attend personally. Those who want to attend virtually must register for the GoTo Webinar. The meeting will also be live-streamed on The Florida Channel.

Public comments can be emailed to BlueGreenAlgaeTaskForce@FloridaDEP.gov

A coalition of 12 Florida environmental organizations reviewed the initial report of the task force during the summer of 2022 and produced this report card. The groups found that only four of 32 proposed measures had been implemented since being proposed three years earlier.
