We sometimes take for granted the effort required to protect our wetlands, wildlife, and beauty. Not many of us have the time to do the deep dive into the intricacies of keeping a strip mall from taking the place of a piece of special ground.
The professional staff at the Conservancy does. Generous donors provide the means to take the fight into the legal arena, where victory is never assured.
The losses, especially during a period in which many of the guardrails that once protected Florida's environment are being dismantled, are dispiriting
Thankfully, the Conservancy doesn't roll over when the outcome disappoints. The warriors there dust themselves off and go back to work.
